We wish to express our condolences to the families of the Irish Students in Berkley who tragically died in the balcony collapse last night.

"That these young women and men just entering the prime of their lives and offering such hope and promise for the future should be taken from us in this brutal and tragic accident pains our hearts beyond all senses," said Allyn Anderson, Vice President of the Irish Fair Foundation in a statement on behalf of the Board of Directors.

He added that the Irish Fair Foundation is dedicating both the Catholic and Non-denominational Church Services at the Big Irish Fair this coming Sunday to the memory and for the repose of the souls of the Irish Berkley Students.

Mr. Anderson also noted that while no comfort can truly comfort their parents, families and loved ones--they should know that we all are united in sharing their grief and horror at this accident. "How sad...how very sad."

Over 30,000 people are expected at the "BIG 40th" BIG IRISH FAIR & MUSICFEST on June 20-21, 2015 at Eldorado Regional Park in Long Beach, California - where the 605 and 405 Freeways meet.

There will also be harp and fiddle competitions and traditional music to sooth the soul and the LUCK OF THE IRISH Cabaret Show featuring Irish American Tenor Dennis McNeil, Anair Academy of Irish Dance and Los Angeles Police Emerald Society Pipes and Drums with a cabaret of Irish music, song, wit, laughter and dance.

And of course, an Irish Fair wouldn’t be complete without traditionally costumed Irish Step Dancers with over a thousand dancers from around the country competing on six stages in a full Irish Feis (Competition). And to round out the Fair, will be heart-pounding bagpipe bands and the big colorful Grand Parade of the Irish with over 100 Irish flags. mighty wolfhounds, ancient Irish warriors, and of course the lovely Rose of Tralee and her Court. ‘T’is all a sight to behold, and one not to miss!

But there’s more: Children’s Leprechaun Kingdom with its games, rides, Irish Story Telling and Freckle Face Kid, Red Haired Kid, and an Irish Baby contests. There will be plenty of Guinness and Blue Moon, along with great Irish foods and beverages provided by Hennessey’s Taverns. MILITARY FREE
The Irish Fair’s salute to our troops and their families. The Irish Fair will admit free of charge all active duty military personal in UNIFORM, along with their immediate families. ID required.

FOOD FOR THE HOMELESS DISCOUNT
Sunday morning between 9:30 & 10:30 the Irish Fair will offer a $4 per person discount off the full adult admission of $20. to those who donate 6 cans of food or more. If you would care to add to this effort, your contribution would certainly be appreciated, and we will accept food all weekend long. The food is donated to a local OC food bank. FREE PUB PARTY
Long Beach Airport Marriott Host Hotel 4700 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach, CA 90815 (10 minutes to the Fairgrounds). will be hosting a no-host Saturday Night Irish Party in “Wrong Way Corrigans Pub” in the hotel. The Big Irish Fair Pub Party at the hotel pub. FREE ADMISSION ... Singing, dancing and music by the Humble Hooligans. No Host Irish food and bar. Starting at 8:00 p.m for an evening of music and good craic with friends and musicians staying at the hotel. The party is free.
